Richmond (Rick) T. Fisher is the Managing Partner and Founder of Race Point Partners, LLC, based in Dallas, Texas. Determining a growing need for independent evaluation services and a very active hedge fund community, Mr. Fisher founded Race Point Partners LLC in 2002 as a strategic consulting practice focused on corporate risk assessment, strategic valuation and fund establishment services. Prior to founding Race Point Partners, Mr. Fisher spent six years at Standard & Poor’s (now S&P Global Inc.) in New York City where he was a member of the Senior Operating Committee and held the titles of President & CEO Standard & Poor’s Securities, and Senior Vice President – Head of Global Sales, in command of worldwide sales efforts for S&P Investment services. |
Utilizing his fund establishment expertise, Rick teamed with an Investment Banker from Deutsche Bank as the Chief Operating Office, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Sugarloaf Rock Capital, a Greenwich, CT Family Office and TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) focused fund manager investing in both public long/short debt and equities as well as private equity assets. Rick joined upon the fund launch in 2009 until it closed in 2017.
Before Standard & Poor’s, Rick spent 10 years with Reuters Group PLC serving as the Regional Director Southwest U.S based in Dallas, Texas., and in New York City as Senior Manager Acquisitions and Strategic Product Development, and Director of Global Accounts, negotiating worldwide Fintech agreements with Reuters largest customers. Prior to Reuters, Mr. Fisher was with MCI Telecommunications in both senior sales and marketing roles. and Rick began his professional career in the advertising industry with Dancer, Fitzgerald and Sample in New York City.
In addition to his executive roles Rick has served on several nonprofit and for-profit Boards including, Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of MRU Holdings, Inc., a publicly held US based Student Loan provider, Trucost PLC a London based company dedicated to carbon footprint portfolio assessment, Harbor Drive Master Fund Limited, a Cayman Island based investment company, HelioJET Cleaning Technology, a privately held, US based specialty cleaning company, and The Greenwich Country Club where he was a Board member for over 15 years and served as Club President from 2003 - 2005.
Mr. Fisher was a member of the New York Stock Exchange from 1997 – 2001 and held NASD Series 7, 63 & 24 licenses.
Rick graduated from New England College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
